There is a class of American entrepreneurs who are economic imbeciles. In conversation with the owner of my local gym (who also owns several other store fronts), I said, “Boy, I hope I can survive four years of Barack Obama.” His reply, “Well, you know, I sure hope he’s successful because confidence in the economy is just so bad theses days.” Huh?
I read this morning that White House press secretary Robert Gibbs wants to know if Republicans “agree with [Rush] Limbaugh’s desire . . . [that] the president’s economic agenda fail.” Umm. Well, let’ see. What have President O and his advisors accomplished since election day? Mushrooming deficits. Shrinking economy. Foolhardy foreign policy moves and mouthing, across the board. Trust plummeting across the market. What started as a challenge last fall is quickly being turned into a catastrophe by the Obama White House.
Who wins if Barry O loses? America and Americans. Should I want the President’s economic agenda to fail? If his economic agenda is contained in his budget and his recent anti-worker, anti-business, anti-family rhetoric and appointments, why should I wish him success? The latest is the perfectly ludicrous offer by Barack Obama to give up Eastern Europe missile defenses in exchange for Russia’s help in talking Iran out of nuclear weapons. The Russians are not blocking dummies, but don’t expect Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton to figure it out. Russian President Medved adroitly stuffed the proposal right back down Obama’s throat. If Obama had studied a lick of Cold War history, he’d have foreseen this outcome from such a lame proposal. But Obama hasn’t studied. He’s too busy texting. He may be the biggest historical ignoramus ever to occupy the Oval Office.
It could not be more clear that America would be better off without what passes for policy, of virtually any variety, today in the White House. And the pain will only get worse. Do I hope President Obama fails? I pray for it every night and invite all other Americans to join me.

Obama’s thinking reminds me of the “curse of the lottery” documentaries that air so often. The documentaries try to show that most people who win the lottery are cursed and lose their winnings- however, the truth is that they lose their winnings because they are bad with money, that is why they are playing the lottery. Obama has the same attitude with the lower and middle class, in that they need some winnings or handouts ( inthe form of tax cuts), while those tax cuts come at the expense of incentives for investing in the future and saving (increased capital gains taxes).
When the government gives handouts to the middle and lower class, it is investing in the present, because these people don’t invest as heavily in the future as the upper class, or else they would BE in the upper class (read the book “The Millionaire Next Door”) . So, when you give to the middle and lower class at the expense of the upper class- you essentially have noone investing in our future, which is what is going to suffer the most from this administration- the future of our country.
Obama’s plan is not economic recovery, or he would be promoting that–recovery–while he is, in choice of programs, in announced intentions, and in rhetoric, pulling heavily for economic disaster. He has already succeeded, beyond our wildest fears of six months ago. While he succeeds in his intentions, America and all it has stood for is rapidly failing. Success for Obama is the polar opposite of success for America and Americans.
He is probably the biggest historical ignoramus, but FDR may have been a close second. Like BO, FDR was a colossal egomaniac and thought he could get anything he wanted by just turning on his “charm.” Forget the homework.
And speaking of homework, anyone who has gone to the absurd lengths Obama has to keep his college and law school transcripts out of sight obviously has no academic bragging rights.
