Oprah Winfrey: Afraid of Sarah Palin or racist?

by Kurt Schulzke on September 6, 2008

Sarah Palin obviously has star power.  Her appearance on Oprah would be a big plus for the show.  How to explain Oprah’s refusal to host Sarah Palin?  I can think of two explanations either or both of which would do the trick:

1. Oprah justifiably fears that Palin would come across so much better than Obama that it would sink Obama’s boat.

2. Oprah is a racist.

We all know that Oprah is biased.  She wants Obama to win in November.  She can use her show how she wants.  But she can’t escape the reputational consequences of running from Palin.

juli, you are full of baloney where it concerns Palin. She doesn’t strike me as the shrinking violet type, and I don’t think she’s afraid of Oprah *or* the press. Nor do I think McCain is too worried about her saying the wrong thing.

That’s the province of your Prince Obama.

Juli,

Palin has been in the national spotlight for only two and a half weeks. It would have been difficult for her to get scheduled on a show like Oprah. Palin is not one to fear the press. She has already been viciously attacked by the left with the same kind of lies you have repeated and she has successfully fought back.

Some prominent Alaskans have spoken against her, primarily those whose corruption she has exposed.

Lastly, McCain said if all else fails then force will be used against Iran. No sane, moral person would allow a terrorist government like Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

Johannes Steiner September 9, 2008 at 7:03 pm

Juli-

If Sarah was afraid of the press, why did she tell them to go to hell, or as good as it, during the convention? What is your evidence for saying she is “afraid of the press”?

As to Palin and racism please give EVIDENCE. Is there any backing whatsoever that Palin is a racist? No. Is there evidence, albeit by associations, that Obama is? Yes. How about Michelle Obama? Yes.

How about Biden? Here is a man who calls for Iraq to be forcefully segregated based on race and religion. That sounds like a great guy to help race relations in the States.

Johannes Steiner September 9, 2008 at 7:06 pm

Apple-

I do not see it as fair in any way to say that “most blacks [...] are so easily influenced by the media”. That seems like an uncalled for generalization that is not at all appropriate.

apple September 9, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Johannes Steiner, Sorry about my grammar. I was in a hurry typing :) What was meant was that the youth that hip-hop targets is easily influenced by it. Such as P-Diddy trying to reach out to them (the youth)….

You’ve got to stop watching cartoons. Get real.

juli September 10, 2008 at 1:27 am

Johannes,
Where is your evidence about Barak and Michelle being racist? And, your comment about Biden is confusing. Iraq has been forcefully segregrated by race and religion ever since the British took over the country in the early 50’s….even when Saddam Hussein came to power. More specifics, please!

You asked about where my evidence comes from with Palin being racist. Nasty rumors have circulated on the internet about her that are often times false …we’ve already seen some of them surface. I apologize if this rumor is false about her…but if it isn’t, it really scares me about having a potential second in command feeling this way:

http://www.laprogressive.com/2008/09/05/alaskans-speak-in-a-frightened-whisper-palin-is-“racist-sexist-vindictive-and-mean”/

All I ask is that the American people really find the truth on many of these issues that are important in choosing our leaders. ..as i will continue to seek the truth.

In any case, I will not vote for the McCain/Palin ticket, primarily because of McCain. She is not going to be the president, McCain would be and I’ve already shared my views about him. It just find it extremely ironic that there are more women in this country that are voting for McCain now because of Palin. ..and many of her views are not in line with McCain’s.

This is why I wish Palin would have granted more interviews with reporters earlier than Charles Gibson this week. Contrary to such claims that she doesn’t care about reporters…she does. She complains that they are picking on her family, yet she doesn’t want to talk…she could have cleared up rumors and what she stands for earlier rather than later. Certainly, I would like to find out more about Palin via Palin. For example, I’d like to find out if she shares the extreme right wing Christian view that it was “God’s will” to go to war with the Iraqis and that it is God’s will to drill for oil in Anwar. A recent video played on CNN has her speaking before a congregation stating such views and this kind of extremism scares me. This isn’t any different from Bush’s extreme Christian views which guided the policies in his Administration. Look where it got us today.

juli September 10, 2008 at 1:47 am

Alex,
You mentioned below:
“Lastly, McCain said if all else fails then force will be used against Iran. No sane, moral person would allow a terrorist government like Iran to have a nuclear weapon.”

Actually, that’s not what McCain said. He said that he would not meet with the Iranian president because he is a dictator. Obama on the other hand has agreed to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and to try and use diplomacy before resorting to force.

And, by the way, Bush and McCain both thought that Hussein had nuclear weapons and, without the approval of congress and breaking international law, pre-emptively attacked Iraq. You think that McCain wouldn’t practice this move with Iran? Like Bush, McCain believes in the Bush doctrine which is a totally new foreign policy direction that this country has taken. This is why our country is so isolated right now and our neighbors do not have a very positive image of Americans. Have you traveled overseas lately?

The idea of pre-emptively attacking another country (without consent from the UN & our allies) before they attack us led us into a costly (both financially and with our troops) war, and all because of “poor intelligence.” Baloney. If you want this again…than McCain is your man.

juli September 10, 2008 at 1:56 am

Apple,

You said that you don’t want to vote for Obama for the reasons that he doesn’t have enough experience. I could use that argument about Palin too…how little experience she has now. What really made me not like her too much was the way that she lifted her experience up (which is very little) by belittling Obama’s experience as a community organizer in her acceptance speech. She totally disregarded his 8 years of experience in the state senate and now as Illinois Senator.

One thing that really gets me is some of the lies that Palin and the Republicans stated in their speech and the American people (especially women!) swallow what she stated as truth. Yes, she’s a persuasive speaker and a good orator, but did she tell the truth? Look for yourself:

http://qa.story.news.yahoo.com/story/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_fact_check

It will be interesting to find out more about Palin in the next coming months and to see how both campaigns will talk about the real important issues in this election.

Christ of Neverland September 10, 2008 at 2:16 am

Kurt– I’m just a nobody so you can disregard me but you really seem to like Palin and I therefore really distrust you.

For the record: Michelle Malkin disagrees with the “sambo” allegation but she doesn’t debunk it.

Oprah is a very, very wealthy person who looks beyond color. I think #1 applies. She is a POLITICAL PARTISAN.

I’m looking forward to the day when the McCain campaign lets Sarah out of her cage and allows her to extemporize. At present she is merely permitted to recycle the packaged soundbytes first uttered at the convention. If Palin is as impulsive as i think she is she will soon reveal her narrow, delusional opinions in grand fashion.

Kurt Schulzke September 10, 2008 at 8:27 am

CON –

You say Oprah is a “political partisan” and is afraid that Palin would look much better to her audience than Obama did when he appeared on her show. If so, then Oprah is a liar.

And if Oprah is afraid, it can only be because she believes — as most do — that Palin is really good at casual communication. Otherwise, Oprah would have nothing to fear.

As to the Sambo nonsense, it’s not Palin’s or Malkin’s duty to prove Palin didn’t say it. It’s up to those who say she did to prove it. Can you offer any proof? If so, share it. Otherwise, maybe you’ll join the Palin bandwagon.

And now you see that whether or not you are a “nobody,” I have not disregarded you. ;-)

Cheers.

Bob September 10, 2008 at 9:28 am

I’m amused at the constant use of that all purpose smear word “racist,” with no one offering any definitions of the word.

And, the reason that the word is so often not defined is because those who want to use it to cudgel others into silence want to be able to use it in many different ways.

A person saying he hates others because of race? Racist.
A person saying that the races are different? Racist.
A person saying that people have a right to associate or not associate with others for any reasons? Racist.
A person who wants strong borders? Racist.
A person saying that different races have different abilities? Racist.
A person saying he doesn’t like rap music? Racist.

Anyone who cowers and tries to deny he or she is a racist if someone else calls them that, is playing a fool’s game.

It is better to ask for a definition and then to address the specific elements of the definition.

In my comments earlier about Oprah, for example, you will note that I did not call her a racist. I wrote that she is anti-white. Much more specific, don’t you think?

Johannes Steiner September 10, 2008 at 4:11 pm

Juli-

Are you seriously citing THAT link as evidence? “A waitress who won’t give us her last name over-heard Sarah Palin saying mean things about Obama, and slurring women. ‘I didn’t tell you this until now, cause she could have me killed.’ This waitresses (surname withheld for obvious reasons) demonstrates concrete evidence. Palin killed MLK, and Malcolm X, Lincoln, and was responsible for starting the slave trade. She also forged the evidence to start the Iraq war because God said to. Furthermore, she hates Jews.”

As to Michelle Obama read her Senior Thesis from 1985.

I told you Barack’s alleged racism was merely by association, which I figured you would assume was linked to Wright, his friend and pastor. That does not mean he is certainly a racist. However, wouldn’t you call me a racist if I went to a church, at least twice a month like Obama did, where the pastor preached against blacks, or was in the KKK?

Biden proposed a bill that would divide Iraq into three separate regions, Sunni, Shiite, and Kurdish, and then force people into those regions depending on their race and religion. It’s a matter of record. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6166796

That is VERY different from what is there now, and all Iraqis who are asked say that this would be a DISASTER.

As to Palin, when did she tell reporters to “leave her family alone”?

All of your claims about Palin are bigoted and false. This is far-left smear work. This kind of dishonesty is what will lose Obama/Biden the election.

Lonnie September 12, 2008 at 7:52 am

I find it interesting that both her and Barack went to that church were white hatred was preached. I find it outrageous that Barack claims he wasn’t aware that this type of preaching was going on. Perhaps this is where the two of them got the notion it was okay to hate and rip off white people. I think it is obvious that Oprah is playing games with her viewing audience when she had Barack on the show and made a fuss about him and that he should run for president. Then she holds a 3 million dollar fundraiser on his behalf. What a surprise it was when she follows all this up with an announcement that no other candidates can go on the show because she doesn’t want her show to be a “political platform.” Who is she kidding? I do think she is biased, if not racist. I think she is afraid of Palin for a variety of reasons. She can’t have anyone on the show that would look better than her and/or better than Obama/Biden. If she had her on the show, she couldn’t cope with many Democrats who would go nutso if she were on the show. However, she could also have Hillary on the show if Palin were on and that would be fair. None of this would be do-able for Oprah who is totally enamored with Obama to the extent that she is desperate and panicked.
Their desperation is obvious, when Obama goes around implying that Palin is a “pig in lipstick” and then like Oprah makes excuses/plays games. Do they think Americans are stupid? Maybe they are the only ones with brains? I don’t think so. I agree with the above poster….their dishonesty has cost them the election. However, their arrogance and desperation has not allowed them to figure this out yet.
Saw this the other day and I couldn’t agree more:
TURN OFF OPRAH AND TUNE OUT OBAMA

juli September 12, 2008 at 11:01 pm

Johannes,
If you ever read this…
Look at the history of Iraq. Demographically, it’s already divided this way and has been for a while. There is no forced division, it’s following the demographics of the region.
By the way, if you read my comment about that article that Palin is racist, I said that I wasn’t sure if it was true….AND that article was not endorsed/published by the Obama campaign. It was an article circulated by the LA progressive. McCain/Palin ads on the other hand, are outright falsehoods/lies. …and even Republicans know their not true, but McCain keeps running them on the tube:
http://news.yahoo.com/story//ap/20080912/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_stretching_the_truth

So, please, don’t tell me McCain and Palin are running an honest campaign. They have stooped to real lows just to work on the voters emotions and thinking they aren’t interested in the truth. But, if you are someone who wants to know the truth…and you seem to be more knowledgable and inquisitive than most people that I’ve encountered who support McCain/Palin… start putting a column together and writing down what each candidate believes in (the real truth). I’m sure you’ll find that Obama’s plans are clearer and more honest.

So, would you like to share Michelle Obama’s senior quote?

Michael Moore September 14, 2008 at 9:32 pm

Oprah is a racist, its obvious

Keesha September 15, 2008 at 4:14 am

Mr.Schulzke,
We know you are smarter than you appear. There is such a huge fallocy in your agrument. First off, Oprah has chosen in the past not to host several people on her show. In fact some of them have been fellow african Americans. And she can do it because it is her show. I believe that the O just doesnt like her and what she stands for. Oprah’s show is not decided by you..its decided by her and its usually about things that she likes and lots of people like to watch it. Its just Oprah and you here have already given her so much more power over Palin with your whinning. I highly doubt that Oprah is afriad of Palin. And I know she is not racist and so do you. …so just be real with yourself and your readers here, this is not fair. I took logic class and this argument is a fallocy

Johannes Steiner September 15, 2008 at 5:32 pm

Keesha- There isn’t so much of a “fallocy” as you seem to think in the “agrument”. I don’t even think there is fallacy, which is a real word. Are you trying to say, “there is a fallacy in your argument”? That would be a well written sentence which isn’t so accurate about what you wrote.

You also submit several faulty conjectures here. For example:

“[It's] just Oprah and you here have already given so much more power over Palin.”

How so? What logical basis is there for this claim? Feel free to draw on all of your class experience. By the way, “Its” is the possesive form of it, while “it’s” is the same as “it is”.

“Oprah’s show is not decided by you..its decided by her and its usually about things that she likes and lots people like to watch it.”

Kurt never said he was in charge of her show. He said that “she can’t escape the reputational consequences of running from Palin.”

“And I know she is not a racist and so do you”

How do you know? What is the logical basis? What gives you such keen insight into Oprah and/or Kurt’s soul(s)?

OPRAH CAN DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS! IT’S HER SHOW AND IF YOU ALL DON’T LIKE IT TAKE A HIKE! WHO CARES IF SHE IS RACIST????? SO IS PALIN AND HER SON AND MCCAIN AND WHO KNOWS WHO ELSE! WE LIVE IN AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE RACIST!

Anon October 1, 2008 at 10:52 am

It’s amazing how Oprah has the most diverse talk shows on the planet, yet she is a racist because the viewers cannot get their way. Where is it that she racist.?Just because she refuses to let Sarah has some airtime it makes her racist? If she was soooo much of a racist, why do some hip-hip rappers have the same argument about not letting them on her program? They are a blend of Blacks, Whites and Latinos. The problem is just because Oprah will not let her on the program that you all wanted to be a race issue because it’s a her show and just because YOUR choice hasn’t made her cut you just want tomake it that way.Oprah isn’t a racist, but John McCain/Palin can be classified as such. McCain didn’t support the the legalization of making Dr. King’s B-day a holiday in his state and Sarah downedObama, Hillary and other non-Whites. If you don’t believe me do the homework yourself. I’ll give you a couple of websites to see: Wonkette and The Bilerico Project to see her racist views.

mdallinm October 1, 2008 at 12:45 pm

As far as I’m concerned, I wouldn’t want to subject Sarah Palin to Oprah anyhow. Racism is the least of Oprah’s problems. I wouldn’t want to be in the company of someone who promoted marital affairs as being healthy for marriage. She also promoted pornography. Yes, she really did have a show promoting pornography and marital affairs.

I agree that it is her show and she can promote whoever/whatever she wants. We, as the consumers, have the right to watch what we want and buy what we want. If you don’t like Oprah…Don’t watch her show, boosting her ratings. Don’t buy her magazine or any other products she is affiliated with. Find out who advertises during her show, stop supporting them, and let them know that you are no longer buying their products because they advertise during her air time. And, we can stop discussing her since that is advertising for her. Just imagine what it would do for her ratings for that one show, if she did let Palin on! We don’t need Oprah.

BTW-When 90% or more of the black community is voting for Obama, regardless of their party affiliation, they don’t have any footing to call Sarah Palin or anyone else racist!

Cosmo October 1, 2008 at 1:12 pm

I wouldn’t vote for a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day either. He isn’t the only civil rights activist this nation has ever seen. What about Cesar Chavez? What about the Native Americans who have fought for civil rights? What about the gays who have fought for civil rights? What about the women who fought for civil rights? If we’re going to honor all the nation’s presidents with a single holiday, “Presidents Day”, then why not lump all the civil rights activists into a single “Civil Rights” day?

Having separate school holidays for MLK, Harvey Milk, and so on is an abuse of our tax dollars. If their fans want to put it on the calendar as something like “Grandparents Day”, where they really only get a calendar mention, then I’m fin with that. But, when our public schools are already ranking near the bottom of the list in the world, we don’t need to disrupt the academic week for separate holidays for each civil rights activist, and there is no reason MLK should get his own holiday when George Washington has to share his with Bill Clinton!

Kari October 1, 2008 at 1:31 pm

I get so tired of people implying that McCain is evil because he voted against something. Look at the entire bills that he is “accused” of voting against before you judge him for his vote. On the surface, many bills look like a wonderful thing, something that no one could argue with. But, what harmful things have been slipped into that package? What pork barreling is contained within? Responsible leaders read the whole bill, including the hidden agenda, prior to voting in favor of something.

We have people worrying about McCain being racist because he voted against a frivolous legal holiday, while the same people are ignoring the fact that Obama FOUGHT against a bill to protect the lives of children born alive after an attempted abortion! He didn’t just vote “present” on the bill (COWARD) …OBAMA FOUGHT AGAINST THE RIGHT TO PROTECTION OF LIFE FOR LIVING HUMAN BEINGS. And you’re worried about McCain voting against MLK Day?

monkeybolo October 5, 2008 at 12:35 pm

It’s very simple. Sarah Palin is boring, wonder bread, iceburg lettuce, bland. Oprah leans towards influential people and influential, Palin is not. Not a maverick by any means either. Nor is this millioniare living a coveted life “one of us”.

Cosmo October 5, 2008 at 1:55 pm

Palin is not influential? She managed to de-thrown the reigning political system to win as Governor in Alaska, and she is no influential? Have you been paying attention at all to what she has accomplished with her influence?

She’s boring? For being boring, she sure has created quite a stir in this nation. For being boring, the media sure is finding a way to make her life a sensation. For being boring, she sure has managed to draw large numbers in on both the Republican Convention and the VP Debate!

As for Oprah, she has her priorities mixed-up! Some of life’s greatest treasures are not flashy, but she’s not smart enough to recognize that.

Johannes Steiner October 5, 2008 at 2:24 pm

Moneybolo,

The majority of America would have to disagree with you when you call Sarah Palin boring. She has captivated both sides. Conservatives are thrilled by her. Liberals vigorously hate her; she does not bore them.

As for bland, most objective people would disagree. A basketball
star, beauty queen, flute-playing, fishing, hunting hockey mom, she suddenly turns politician, and reforms her local and then state governments.

She took on republicans, democrats, independents, and battled corruption. She called on democrats, republicans, and independents to help her lead Alaska. She didn’t follow the party lines. That’s what it means to be a maverick.

As for not being one of us, you’re right. She is now wealthy. She hasn’t always been. She knows what it’s like to be middle class. She has been there. She’s down to earth. She’s only barely crossed the millionaire line.

Compare that to Obama or Biden. The best Biden can say is “I love riding Amtrak.” There’s out of touch for you. Who likes Amtrak?

Alex October 5, 2008 at 2:38 pm

Anon,

Is Hillary a “non-white”?

And McCain being against MLK day, how is that racist? MLK was not a man deserving of a national holiday, so why would someone want one for him? What did MLK do to get a national holiday? He did do a lot, but not nearly as much as others that have no national holiday for themselves, like Washington,Franklin, Adams, or Jefforsen. But their are some who don’t deserve them, like Columbus.

Neither McCain or Palin can be classified a racist because they don’t act as if they think they’re superior to people of other races. Neither can Oprah because she thinks she’s supereor to everyone.

Howard October 6, 2008 at 2:22 am

MEDIA BIAS ROBS AMERICANS OF THE TRUTH
… NOW, AP IS UNFARILY PLAYING THE RACE CARD …
The media’s continual bias in favor of Obama is not only disgusing, it’s against everything that America, a Free Press, and Freedom of Speech stands for. To suggest that there is no media bias in favor of Obama not only robs Americans of the truth, it insults the intelligence of the American people.
TALK IS CHEAP … CHECK OBAMA’S RECORD !!!
A candidate’s track record, and associations are always a legitimate issue when running for President. Let’s take a look at the qualifications, judgement, and experience of Obama, who is running for President. Obama had 25 years to fulfill the potential he displayed as a rising start at Harvard Law School … and, how did he live up to that potential? … He chose to align himself with anti-American racist, Jeremiah Wright for TWENTY YEARS … along with Ferrahkan, Rezko, Ayers, and others. As a community organizer, he registered thousands of voters in Chicago … then, when he ran for the state legislature, he took away their votes, by disqualifying his opponent (a black woman) on a technicality. As a U.S. Senator, he voted present 160 times … he never called a meeting on the Afghanistan committee he chaired (although he NOW says we must shift all our military from Iraq to Afghanistan). He claimed Foreign Policy experience from a 9 day whirlwind photo op to 6 countries. And, he spent almost half of his tenure neglecting his responsibilities as a U.S. Senator, so he could run for President. Senator McCain served America honorably for 22 years in the military. He proved his love for America, as well as his honor, integrity and character, by refusing early release as a P.O.W., even while being tortured. He served America as a ‘contributing’ U.S. Senator, working across the aisle, for 20 years. If Obama’s Twentyfive year track record shows he lacks judgement, and can’t be trusted, who cares what he says about Health Care and the Economy! What Obama never learned is Character. He simply can’t be trusted … ask Jeremiah Wright, a friend of 20 years, who Obama betrayed for personal ambition … and, you Obama supporters really think he won’t betray you If he gets elected??? If he gets elected, you Obama supporters will be facing a HUGE disillusionment !!!

Angie-in-Japan October 6, 2008 at 2:00 pm

Frankly, I think many of you in here need to wake up! We are in the middle of a major crisis (well, actually a few of them!!) and all you can talk about is who’s racist and who’s not. Of course, Black folk don’t have to like White folk anymore than White folk have to like Black folk! That is the BEAUTY of living in America. (I wish you all had to go and live overseas. Maybe then you’d learn to look beyond this sick fascination you have with boxing people into these little racial groups in order to make yourselves feel ’safe’.

Supposedly Obama never learned ‘character.’ Well, let me just say that I don’t believe Palin has any CLASS! We’ve got numerous countries licking their chops…waiting for our country to destroy itself…and all she can think about is ‘assassinating’ people through spins in the media. What a waste of an election. Neither deserve to sit anywhere in the White House. I thought American politics was better than that…what a disappointment.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

AJ October 23, 2008 at 10:41 pm

For those that will call Oprah a racist…just justifies how racist they are. Although I am not an Oprah fan myself, I am a white male who hates the fact that there is still such racism in this country. My granfather fought along with the late Dr. King – not just because it was the right thing to do, but because it was the Godly thing to do. This is the reason why we can never truly overcome. These people are the same people who also claim Christianity. We will all be surprised in the end when we face the Almighty someday – and we all will. Thankfully we cannot judge the world, but we will be judged by the true judge. What will you say then?

Cosmo October 24, 2008 at 12:42 am

“…and all she can think about is ‘assassinating’ people through spins in the media.”

Disclosing the truth is not spinning the media. When the media refuses to fill its role and make American voters aware of critical information regarding the candidates, then the opponents have no option but to take matters into their own hands.

The media was all over trooper-gate, putting the worst possible spin on it as they could. They continued to hound the matter even after the report stated that the only thing Palin was guilty of was failing to control her husband, who was rightfully trying to protect his family, just as anyone else would have and should have done.

On the other hand, we have a candidate whose fingerprints are all over multiple legitimate concerns, major concerns, and the media turns the other way, completely ignoring the evidence.

And, you’re going to accuse those who disclose the truth of spinning the media? The left loves your way of thinking…discredit the bearers of truth.

What countries are licking their chops?

I know Opera is not a racist… so what she didnt want Sarah Palin on her show. If I had a show I wouldnt want her on it either, I believe that Sarah Palin is the biggest red neck/racist women I have ever seen and I am a white women, not only that but she dosent not even talk about the main issues in the debates such as how to get the united states out of the finiancal cristist that we are in now, look how long the republicans have been in office they odviously dont do a good job you see we are going through a crsist now. I VOTE FOR OBAMA.

Wow! What neck of the backwoods are you from? First of all, it’s called a crisis, not a “cristist” or even a “crsist”. Secondly, in the English language, we have these things called apostrophes, and we insert them into these things we call contractions. I’ll ignore the rest of the grammar and spelling issues. Actually, reading your post again, it’s so messed up one might think you were faking all those errors.

So, who are you? Oprah? No one else could speak with such authority on her status as a racist. (Which she clearly appears to be and has the right to be.)

Solving the financial crisis is not Palin’s responsibility. That’s what the Democrat controlled congress is supposed to be doing. Palin is doing what she is supposed to be doing in her current role as a running mate.

I suspect you meant to say that Palin was the most redneck woman (singular) you have ever seen. That being the case, you really ought to get out of those backwoods a bit more often! And, according the standards that you are holding Palin to, an awful lot of us are rednecks and proud of it…if that’s what you call a redneck. We are the heart and backbone of America!

Most importantly, the biggest crisis this nation is currently facing is that we are on the dawn of electing a socialist government. The current financial situation will be resolved. That’s not a question. But, some of the damage that would result from an Obama administration would be irrevocable. By addressing the threat that Obama is to this nation, she is doing what is most urgent (as a running mate and an American citizen) at this moment.

Glad to know America is safe in the hands of voters like you. You “odviously” need some help!

“So here’s to all my sisters out there keeping it country Let me get a big “Hell Yeah” from the redneck girls like me… Hell Yeah! Hell Yeah! I’m redneck woman … “

oprah has it all but happiness and contentment. Look at her history. Her and Obama both grew up hating whites. She will never be content until she gets right with God and pratices what she preaches. Living in sin just like her mom that she hated. Wantinh white people to bow down to her. Scared of Sarah Palin. Maybe she is the great white hope that Oprah fears. Maybe she will like Sarah. Just pray for Oprah. Is those fires in Cal. a warning from God?

Ms. Perfect: “I VOTE FOR OBAMA.” ?? Routinely? As in yesterday, today and tomorrow?

AJ, the election is over and you and your man won. But let it be said, I know several black ministers who detest Obama. They and their congregations don’t even want it suggested that they were supporting him. Racism is NOT why most Americans who did not vote for him chose not to. His outrageous socialist policies and his association of criminal and iffy friends are the reason.
I was considering voting for him until those people and his far left mentality became clear. His skin was all I could see early on, and it was just fine with me. And probably it was for the vast majority of Americans, white or black.
I am a huge fan of Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas and Michael Steele. Why? Because all three are common sense people — and non-racists. Unlike Oprah.
