This ridiculous rumor — spread by left-wing hate bloggers — has been debunked. For more on the “Sambo” story and other, similar, anti-Palin propaganda campaigns, Michelle Malkin has a good write-up. Because of left-wing resentment over Palin’s nomination and more especially, how positively she compares to Barack Obama and his VP choice (what was his name again?) I think we should expect this kind of absurd vitriol to become a daily ritual between now and November.

The more these left-wing robots spew forth against Sarah Palin, the less credibility they have. The voting public can see she has an 80% plus approval rating in her home state; there is a reason for that. So they know these claims are fictions or distortions. People identify with Gov. Palin — and they resent her being abused by these blogs. It will bounce back against their candidate.
Calling him a “Sambo” would be beneath Sarah Palin’s pay grade. But intriguingly — he called *himself* a Muslim in the George Stephanopoulos ABC interview. Obama referred to ‘my Muslim faith.” It took a nudge from George to get him to restate it: “Your Christian faith.” ? What’s THAT about? Given his multiple links in a half dozen directions to Muslims — from which he tries so hard to distance himself — how could that come out of his mouth?
Is this the interview you’re referring to?

If so, at what point does he say it? I don’t have a half hour to watch the whole thing.

I don’t know where it is in the interview but Obama did say “my Muslim faith”
just go to youtube, do a search for the “obama my muslim faith” video, and you’ll find it. it’s there, and you won’t have to watch for 10 minutes………..come on, he said it………..george stephenopolas (sp?) corrected him. why aren’t the media all over this? bias? you betcha. do they have palin on video saying “sambo”? nope, just a waitress saying she heard it. i can say anything i want to, also. can i prove it? the video says it all………………………..
I love the fact that he considers it above his pay grade to answer a question about when life begins, but it is not above his pay grade to turn around and decide to error on the side of refusing to protect children who have been born alive after an attempted abortion.
In the youtube versions I’ve seen of the “muslim” statement (there are tons of them out there, all of the same interview, including varying lengths of footage), he says it very near the beginning of the video. He clearly refers to his Muslim faith, and GS gently corrects him. No Christian would slip and refer to their Muslim faith. For Christians, Christ is the nearest and dearest thing to their hearts, and they don’t accidentally think anything else. Of course he is of the Muslim faith…He was raised and educated in Indonesia, where Islamic education was mandatory, until about the age of 10. Then he came to Hawaii where he continued to be mentored by Muslims.
