It’s always been a matter of curiousity to me that those who practice homosexuality in the United States feel so oppressed. They have jobs, they can march and say ridiculous things whenever they want. In some states — like California — their “lifestyle” is even given special legal recognition through “civil unions”.
Yet they cry that they are “oppressed” and “discriminated” against. They demand state-imposed “legitimacy” and attempt to twist the definition of “marriage” to conform to their own view of reality. Moscow, Russia offers a view of what oppression really looks like.
In Moscow, over the past weekend, police violently broke up a “gay pride” rally. There, ITAR-Tass quoted Moscow City Hall spokesman Sergei Tsoi as saying:
“(Gay pride events) not only destroy moral foundations of our society, but also purposefully provoke disturbances that will threaten the lives and safety of Moscow residents and guests.”
Well said, in my view. But forcefully breaking up the party might fairly be termed oppression. The picture above, by the way, is reportedly of the event but shows Russian police removing an anti-gay demonstrater.

Little do American gays understand, apparently, about how privileged their position is in this country and how little they can legitimately complain.
Wherever you go in the arts world, and I go there a lot, there is anti-straight discrimination — not the reverse, as their adherents are tacitly given an edge in theater arts and visual art exhibition spaces, often likewise in publications relating to those genre.
Since over the years I’ve come to know many of these people personally, I generally know who is which — and I know how disproportionate to their actual numbers in the population their representation is.
I understand that in the last few weeks, Rhode Island now remains as the last New England state that does not allow gay marriage. What’s the saying, As Maine Goes, So Goes the Nation? Heaven, literally, forbid.
Ironically, the overwhelming majority of homosexuals in this country support the left wing candidates and parties. Do they realize that Russia is merely the destination that the Leftist in our country are trying to steer us?
What a ridiculous notion all of you have, as though if you have some rights it’s ok because you have more than someone else.
Rights are based on equality and until everyone has that then there is something to be angry about. You all speak about sexual orientation as though it is a defining factor of someone. The basis of a democratic ideology is that everyone deserves to be treated the same based on the content of their character. The fact someone is less fortunate than ourselves does not make a lack of basic human rights less important.
As for the so called “irony” of homosexuals supporting left wing candidates because communism is the extreme left. Maybe they’re supporting the people that support their rights and ideology?
Also we should realize the political spectrum is not simply left or right there are degrees. As for Russia their form of government does not effect how they deal with sexual orientation.
