With a bit of help from an old pickup truck and a Hail Martha campaign visit by Mr. Hopenchange himself, Scott Brown has brought change to Massachusetts and Washington that we can all believe in. Where to begin breaking down this astounding political revolt? We could start with the proposition that Martha Coakley epitomizes today’s Washington Democrats. Intellectually shallow, arrogant, out-of-touch with real people and supremely confident that socialism, high taxes and a spineless foreign-policy will somehow magically add up to economic recovery and peace in our time.
For congressional Dems, the writing is on the wall. Senator Jim Webb (D-Va), who lucked into George Allen’s seat, hears footsteps and has called for no more health care votes until Senator-elect Brown is seated. Webb was very quickly echoed by one of the most rabid nationalized health care proponents in the House, Barney Frank (D-Mass), who issued this statement:
“I have two reactions to the election in Massachusetts. One, I am disappointed. Two, I feel strongly that the Democratic majority in Congress must respect the process and make no effort to bypass the electoral results. If Martha Coakley had won, I believe we could have worked out a reasonable compromise between the House and Senate health care bills. But since Scott Brown has won and the Republicans now have 41 votes in the Senate, that approach is no longer appropriate. I am hopeful that some Republican Senators will be willing to discuss a revised version of health care reform because I do not think that the country would be well-served by the health care status quo. But our respect for democratic procedures must rule out any effort to pass a health care bill as if the Massachusetts election had not happened. Going forward, I hope there will be a serious effort to change the Senate rule which means that 59 votes are not enough to pass major legislation, but those are the rules by which the health care bill was considered, and it would be wrong to change them in the middle of the process.”
Good for Barney! Shame on Harry Reid who has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to lie, cheat, steal and bribe — whatever it takes to ram Obamacare down America’s throat.
Also worth noting is that Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts adds to the growing string of Dem electoral defeats following a campaign visit by the current occupant of the White House. Perhaps we could arrange for Mr. Obama to campaign for Nancy Pelosi in California.

Nancy Pelosi is dumb, I won’t debate that. But do you think she is dumb enough to let Obama come to California to campaign for her?
And yes, good for Barney Frank. He amazed me with the good judgment shown in this statement. No doubt he DOES hear footsteps, but Reid, Pelosi and Obama have repeatedly demonstrated how deaf they are.
