In the beginning, the Sheriff David Doran and the Texas Rangers were hunting for one man, Dale Barlow. They finally found Barlow with one phone call, two states away. But to get there, they spent at least 5 days planning and deployed an army of 700.
Yesterday, the San Angelo Standard Times reported:
“Efforts to arrest the [six indicted FLDS] men remain in the planning stages, Schleicher County Sheriff David Doran said, and no action has yet been taken in the case . . .”
Planning stages? Let’s see. 6 men x 5 days = 30 days. 6 men x 700 = 4,200. Maybe they’ll call in the National Guard?

It’s amazing to me that the media is still saying that they are “searching” for the men when Doran himself says we are still in the planning stages. Seems to me the guys don’t even know they are wanted yet! How is that fleeing?
They want to make it appear to the public that the men are “fleeing” so that they can stage a dramatic perp walk when they are finally “apprehended.” This is standard prosecutorial stage management. You watch. It’ll happen. The press will be alerted in advance and the cameras will roll.
Kurt,
If the presses roll at all it will be from FLDS. So far Texas has tried to keep the media out of it. They don’t look too good arresting a peaceful people who have done no wrong. So far almost all the media has been from FLDS or FLDS approved.
Basically Texas is setting up another raid for “Sarah Jessop Barlow” or in this case “unknown men”. Notice CPS is jumping on the bandwagon to take the children again. Another attempt at Genocide. They have blood in their hearts, and will stop nothing short of it.
Kurt: Please tell us what Natalie Malonis did to make you take down your post about her shocking personal history!
Pleas see court documents filed in the Tarrant County District Clerk’s Office in the case of Natalie Bush Malonis vs. John Adam Malonis, Cause Number 324-263643-98, which is a matter of public record.
Ms. Malonis lifestyle and judgement make her unfit as a CASA or AAL for Teresa Jeffs or any other child.
[I think] she should be disbarred and incarcerated for her [alleged] unethical and [alleged] illegal behavior in the FLDS/Teresa Jeffs case.
This woman [appears to have] serious, serious issues….!

No, I have not been contacted by Natalie or anyone representing her.
I temporarily “privatized” the Malonis article while waiting confirmation that the source documents would be published at Truth Will Prevail or elsewhere on the web. After receiving additional assurance that they would be, I republished the article. But having still not seen them, I’m on the verge of pulling it again. It’s very important to me that evidence back up allegations made on this blog.
Along those lines, I want to make it clear to all readers that at least some of the documents underlying the Malonis article are, reportedly, sworn affidavits. They have not been tested — at least not publicly — through simple authentication or cross examination.
Until a record of such authentication or cross-examination is made available, it is not fair to state as a FACT that anything written in them is proven. They are allegations, nothing more. But they are vastly more than Texas CPS ever had to go on in launching their raid against the FLDS.
The ‘perp walks’ are a temporary moment of fame for the authorities and backfires if the rights of the accused were violated.
The problem it creates then, besides added damges in a civil complaint, is the end results of all that attention it pulls to the case.
Though it is always more difficult for any walked in front of the cameras to overcome the public perception immediately, more of the public is still watching if and when the tables turn.
I guess I should add, even bad news can be good, when it helps to keep the media focusing in on the events…
…asking more questions, finding more answers…
Kent, you are a good man.
I wouldn’t even want to put up anyones “dirt” even if true.
Maybe that turn the other cheek runs too deep.
I don’t recall where I saw it (maybe at GoSanAngelo), but the LE officials were saying that all of the men indicted had attorneys, and that they were going to contact them to allow the suspects to surrender themselves.
That would avoid the ‘perp’ walk you are talking about – if the suspects don’t take off like Warren Jeffs did.
Tx —
No, it wouldn’t necessarily avoid the perp walk. Perp walks are 100% at the discretion of the prosecutor. Defense attorneys all the time will ask to just meet down at the station and prosecutors will stiff ‘em. Sometimes, they just won’t tell the defendant anything and show up at church or home, just to increase the humiliation. They’re a brutal bunch of thugs, a lot of these guys.
Kurt, I disagree.
I find it interesting that those that support the FLDS are the quickest to call the state officials various names (thugs, gestapo, nazis, etc), and the quickest to dismiss any evidence of wrong-doing on the part of the FLDS.
It is not surprising that you would be concerned as an apparent LDS member, and based on the history of the Mormons over the years.
It is surprising that a professional of your stature would stoop to that level.
I also don’t know how it is in Georgia (I’ve never practiced there), but in Texas, every time I contacted to make arrangements to have a client turn themselves in, the prosecutor was courteous and willing to avoid the perp walk.
Maybe you should focus on encouraging Georgia officials to come out here to learn how we do it.
TXBLUESMAN mostly what we have seen in this fiasco is allegation without supporting evidence and law enforcement reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
Dismissing any evidence? WHAT EVIDENCE?
Maybe Kurt would prefer to FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION and leave the bigotry to Texas law.
Now, perhaps we could train some Iranian Republican Guard personnel in Texas…I bet even THEY would learn something in Texas.
Simply amazing… for reasons that I don’t understand, the indicted already had attorney’s and had given their names and numbers to the authorities.
Today they all had a meeting and voila!
!!! BREAKING NEWS !!!
ELDORADO TX — 4:00 p.m CST
Five men indicted last week for crimes at the YFZ Ranch surrendered themselves to Schleicher County authorities today. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced their names and charges at an Austin press conference. They are as follows:
Leroy Jessop, 33 — Sexual Assault of a Child and Felony Bigamy
Raymond Jessop, 36 — Sexual Assault of a Child
Allan Keate, 56 — Sexual Assault of a Child
Michael Emack, 57 — Sexual Assault of a Child
Dr. Lloyd Barlow, 38 — 3 counts of misdemeanor Failure to Report Child Abuse.
The men are all in custody at the Schleicher County Jail awaiting bail proceedings.
Amazing, the FLDS has done exactly what it said it would do once they were given the opportunity to demonstrate they understand and abide by the law.
What?
No perp walk?
It’s all part of the game, Tx. If enough people are expecting the authorities to misbehave, that knowledge can temper that very behavior. It’s impossible to know whether the “outcry in advance” had any effect.
I think some of those “lawmen” — most of whom are probably decent people — are pretty sensitive right now to criticism for past heavy-handed behavior. Not so, Texas CPS. They’re already “evaluating” whether any of those kids from the homes of the indicted are “in danger.”
I think, ultimately, the DNA and the material discovered in the searches will be excluded. Either at the trial court or later on appeal. It’s just a question of how much leverage they can put on the women to testify against the fathers. This whole thing is so absurd when you consider Hugh Hefner’s gig in Cali.
Charlesh – you’re not totally right. They do have a trickle of evidence. Granted, it took about 3 and a half months of searching to come up with anything to pin on anyone, but in the end, they did manage.
