Gloria Steinem endorses Sarah Palin, demands new American pie

by Kurt Schulzke on September 5, 2008

When Gloria Steinem speaks, Americans listen . . . and run as fast as they can in the opposite direction.  In her latest diatribe, Steinem parrots the strident, discredited wail that Palin — whose executive experience easily trumps that of Barack Obama — is “unqualified” and whines that the American pie isn’t good enough for her.   Steinem, like Michelle Obama, wants to bake a new one:

This isn’t the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need. Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It’s about making life more fair for women everywhere. It’s not about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for that. It’s about baking a new pie.

Steinem joins a list of notorious Obama supporters who are put off by the American pie: disgraced (and now imprisoned) Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers, Charles Manson sympathizer Bernadine Dohrn, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour.  It’s quite the entourage.  More on al-Mansour later.

Gloria Steinem, the once upon a time Playboy Bunny, is now a bitter old broad and really ticked off that middle America has a heroine that doesn’t buy her line of feminism. Tough bananas, Gloria. This lady is above your pay grade, to borrow an Obamism.

Palin is America’s answer to Margaret Thatcher. Who was a young, witty and very good-looking mother of two when she swept the world off its feet. Acc. to the WSJ today, her critics referred to her as “a very brave girl.” She stood her ground; she said, “It’s the cock that crows, but its the hen that lays the eggs.”
