Congressional Dems Fiddle While Rome Burns: Steroidal Theater of the Absurd

Henry Waxman and Nancy Pelosi are a national disgrace. If the Republicans can’t take back the House from the likes of these incompetent clowns, we are emphatically a nation in decline. In the video below, you’ll see Rep. Henry Waxman pick a fight with pitcher Roger Clemens and his attorneys over why Clemens didn’t invite Waxman’s goons to talk with Clemens’ former nanny before she talked with Clemens. Topping off the intense drama, Waxman — who clearly took considerable pains to set the trap for Clemens — pompously reads Clemens a scolding from a script.

Speaking intelligently about such ludicrous trivia is apparently above Waxman’s pay grade. This congressional soap opera takes place against the backdrop of an expiring FISA, a major piece of federal law-enforcement legislation on which arguably hangs our national security against future 9-11s. Pelosi, Waxman and friends should be ashamed of themselves to be squandering — by one analysis — $1 million on baseball’s Steroidgate in the middle of a war. Shame, however, is in woefully short supply in the current Congress.
