Climategate News Flash: CNN Acknowledges Global Warming “Skepticism and Suspicion”

by Horatius on December 10, 2009

Here’s a fun Climategate headline and video now at CNN.com.  It’s not without its oddities.  It’s interesting for two reasons.  First, CNN finally admits the existence of “skepticism and suspicion” about global warming.  In other words, after so many years of prevarication on the issue, the science is, uh, no longer “settled.”

Second, the headline misfires on who “started” Climategate, wrongly fingering the “hackers” who dug out the smoking-gun emails at University of East Anglia.  The truth?  The guys who started Climategate were the political hacks posing as scientists — some of whom still lurk in the halls of the UEA’s CRU — who practiced awful science and documented their misbehavior in writing.   Without them, there would never have been any emails to hack.

But we’ll give CNN credit for finally admitting the biggy — CLIMATE SCIENCE, FAR FROM SETTLED, IS A TEEMING CAULDRON OF CONTROVERSY!
