BCS BS - College Football Stupidity

Time out. I know I’m taking a bit of risk here with 0:06 left in the first half of the Sugar Bowl, but the risk is miniscule.

Can someone explain why advertisers — or anyone at all — would want two successive blow-out college bowl games on New Year’s Day? What marketing genius decided to pit USC vs. Illinois (in Pasadena, of all things) and Georgia vs. Hawaii (in the Sugar Bowl). These games were dogs (no offense, Uga) were utterly predictable. Why not Georgia vs. USC? So Hawaii was unbeaten, but who have they played worth mentioning? Why can’t the NCAA get it’s act together on this to produce decent bowl games?

Update: The Sugar Bowl turned out even worse than I thought.  It and the Rose Bowl were over before the end of the first half.  And then Mark Richt had the audacity to go for it on 4th down, up by something like 41-10.  Disgusting.

Wow… Richt on 4th down. That blew my mind. Up by 30. How incredibly….. small.
