Globe cooled over past 12 months

Anthony Watts reports that four respected sources are showing the globe significantly cooler over the past 12 months. No, I’m not an expert, but I can read and do basic math. ;-) I’ll leave it at that, with the graphic below demonstrating the trend. Lots more great data and commentary at Watts Up With That?

Why Foxnews doesn’t report Obama’s jihad ties

Ratings and IQ. It’s that simple. Yesterday, some readers didn’t want to believe what I wrote about Barack Obama’s support of Kenyan jihadis. Apparently, they just can’t imagine it being true because Bill O’Reilly (below) and Foxnews haven’t mentioned it. OreillyOne reader helpfully informed me that she has passed along the information to O’Reilly because “if it is legitimate and accurate” O’Reilly would “broadcast it from the rooftops.” As if. Some won’t like what comes next but they need to hear it. This is the real “no spin zone.” We’ll look at ratings and IQ in turn.

Bill O’Reilly is a smart guy and — as an individual — seems to have some “conservative” sensibilities. But he’s smart before he’s conservative. [Read more →]

The Odinga-Obama Cousin Thing

Some readers have expressed skepticism about Raila Odinga’s claim that Barack Obama’s father was Odinga’s “maternal uncle”. To the skeptics, I offer the excerpt below from a January 11, 2008 Telegraph UK story, in which the Obama campaign confirms that Obama called Odinga on the phone on January 7 — just as Odinga claimed in his BBC radio interview — and fails to deny the cousin relationship.

Obama, Odinga & Kenyan Jihad

Last night, I reported on Barack Obama’s active support of Kenyan jihadi candidate and Obama cousin Raila Odinga. What escaped mention was Odinga’s explicit plan to turn Kenya into an Al Qaeda terrorist incubator. A close analysis of Odinga’s MoU with Sheikh Abdullahi Abdi shows that — if Odinga had been elected as Kenyan president in the fall of 2007 — he would have made it impossible under Kenyan law for “any Muslim arrested for or suspected of Terrorism” to be tried anywhere but Kenya under Kenyan law.

Kenyan law, in turn, would henceforth be exclusively Shariah law in “Muslim declared regions” — the “coast” and “North Eastern regions” of the country – see the map, below — now visited by hundreds of thousands of western tourists each year.  [See Odinga, Abdi & Obama: Which Islamic MoU is real? for an updated, detailed discussion of two competing versions of the agreement.]  Obama and Odinga supporters want to label as a “lie,” the MoU version discussed here.  However, the evidence suggests the opposite is true. Barack Obama: Kenyan Jihadi

Barack Obama’s family and political connections to failed Kenyan presidential candidate Raila Odinga (pictured here with Obama in 2006) and others seeking to Islamicize Kenya should be deeply disturbing to American voters. Obam OdingMost Americans have no idea that Kenya is literally on the cutting edge of the global jihad thanks, in part, to the efforts of one Barack Obama.

Given the apparent Democrat decision to choose Obama as their offering for U.S. President, it’s time that the rest of America educate themselves as to who Obama really is and what he really stands for. It’s a scary picture — far scarier than I ever imagined. A couple of months ago, I was actually talking about voting for this guy if Romney bowed out. Not any more. [Read more →]

Huckabee finds his niche on SNL

For all of his political sins, Governor Mike Huckabee certainly has a sense of timing, at least in comedic terms. As this SNL clip suggests, he may have a future in show business:

Hillary Plagiarizes Edwards

After lambasting Obama for stealing lines, Hillary pulled the same stunt at Thursday night’s debate in Texas — copping material from Bill Clinton and taking her closing from John Edwards — and made herself look really silly into the bargain. Some pundits are interpreting the latter as her concession. Check ‘er out: [Read more →]

Obama Through the Looking Glass

It appears Hillary is done for at the hands of the beamish boy.“One two, one two and through and through…” Spouting bromides that make less sense than Lewis Carroll’s famous nonsense poem, Jabberwocky, Obama has galumphed through the primaries, and to all appearances, has slain the Jabberwock, which “with eyes of flame, came whiffling through the tilgey wood, and burbled as it came.”Jabberwocky

We are not sure which candidate has burbled more. But it would take a miracle, or considerable Clinton conniving, to change the outcome at this point. Obama is virtually certain to be the candidate. (O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! He chortled in his joy.) By virtue of his charm and saying nothing, he has wooed and won an unconscious electorate.

Obama is the 2008 version of pet rocks, but a lot scarier. Cults of personality have a frightening history. Any candidate that takes on the aura of a savior, but is not the Savior, is by definition a counterfeit. The mindless love it. The minded object … and suspect. Charles Krauthammer nails the candidate to his ephemeral wall: [Read more →]

Utah’s college students (legally) carry guns on campus

CNN has PJD - pathological journalistic disorder. It cannot write a story without a hysterical, liberal slant. This one, reporting that Utah is the only state in the Union to allow college students to legally carry guns on state university campuses, starts off giving the false impression that these law-abiding students are flying under the radar. NYT attempts hatchet job on McCain

So let me see if I have this straight. Back in January, the New York Times proudly endorsed John McCain while it was in the midst of preparing a supposedly devastating expose on his ethics published yesterday? Just who has ethical problems — McCain or the New York Times? I’ve questioned McCain’s ethics myself, but not in relation to the unfounded gossip ginned up by the Times for this latest story.
